This notion is featured in all of the canonical gospels, but it is most prominently expressed in the Gospel of Matthew. In Christianity, the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is regarded as the last judgment that God will carry out on all humans who have ever lived.
According to the Bible, both the saved and the lost will be judged, and both good and bad works will be judged.
  • Matthew 7: "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.".
  • Revelation 11:18: There is but one judgment day.
  • Romans 14:10 and 2 Corinthians 5:10: Both the saved and lost will be judged.
  • Ecclesiastes 12:14, 2 Corinthians 5:10: Both good and bad works will be judged.
The Bible also says in John 5:26–29 that everyone who has died will be raised from the dead and be judged.
